Bubblegum Bruises Vol. II
At the heart of this exhibition is her iconic large pink soft chain and pink wig chair, a motif that symbolizes both the weight of trauma and the radical possibility of release and softness. These links speak of fragility and resilience, carrying the idea that cycles of pain can be broken, and that new memories, light, playful and happy, can be forged in their place.
Abstract painting mature with colour choices, built textured surfaces but explore more softness and a slowness in painting where complementary tones of greens and pinks also replicate the mirror or empty frame or view point of the gaze.
Sculptural installations spill into the space like a surreal boutique, with jelly bags and spray foam arranged with a sense of both humor and luxury, sitting on top of luxe milk crate plinths, playful yet uncanny. Each object feels like it belongs to a dream closet where vulnerability is dressed up in chains and candy hues.
From here, you move into Pink’s flowing ceramic sculptures, forms that twist and swell with colour and texture. These works carry a sense of movement for both strength and softness in equal measure.
Together, Pink’s works create a universe where trauma is softened, where colour is a form of resistance, and where play becomes a tool for survival. Bubblegum Bruises invites viewers into a world that is punk, pink, and uplifting a place where you can transform your hurt into a place of beauty.
