Biography
Katie Pink (b. 1979, Aotearoa, New Zealand) is an artist based on Bundjalung Country in Northern New South Wales.
Working across painting, sculpture and installation, Pink uses materials such as polyurethane, acrylic and pigment to build layered surfaces and forms. Her practice draws on memory and gestures of adornment, shaped by early experiences of femininity and self-presentation.
Her work explores the tension between softness and resistance, where processes of layering and embellishment become a way of reshaping inherited patterns.
Pink completed the Visual Arts program at Byron School of Art in 2024 and is currently part of their alumni program. She was awarded the Northern Rivers Community Gallery Graduate Prize, resulting in her solo exhibition Bubblegum Bruises (2025).
